![]() Start the simulation with a warm engine "-prop /engines/engine/oil-temperature-degf=150". You must prepare the simulator to handle this initial situation, since the default state assumes you are safely on ground and have a cold engine. The problem is spawning at high altitude: this is not something that happens in real life unless the aircraft is towed. especially if one is attempting to use one of the starting states like "on approach 3nm distant" or similar.Ī cold start at altitude would also require priming but, if you are already at altitude, chances that your engine was running a minute ago are very high and it won't be a cold start Wkitty42 wrote in Wed 1:18 pm:i do not know if attempting a cold start at altitude also requires this priming to be done. the problem being which properties need to be loaded over others and at which point is the state loaded vs the point at which the persistent data is loaded. There is a bit of a conflict between the persistent data and starting states. especially if one is attempting to use one of the starting states like "on approach 3nm distant" or similar. i do not know if attempting a cold start at altitude also requires this priming to be done. once the engine starts, the fuel will flow properly as long as the tank switch is set properly and there is fuel in the tank(s). ![]() but it now sounds like you are not attempting to land at a high mountain ICAO.Īs for pumping the primer, the c172p needs the primer to be pumped a few times to provide fuel in the bowl for the engine to start with. getting the mixture set properly is hard. for example, if one is starting at a high mountain ICAO, it can be that the air is too thin for the craft to start. Your initial message didn't provide some details like altitude. I am thinking there is some serious bugginess in this install of this version.īy the way, I found that double right-click = change of perspective.Kaosiia wrote in Tue 5:37 pm:I am not sure what you mean by a cold start at the position or pumping the primer. Generally when trying to use various controls, it seems like the simulator is just totally unresponsive to various inputs. I have tried clicking the levers directly to make the levers move, clicking all areas of the slots, etc., but nothing causes the control to change. For example, I am trying the tutorial for the B1900D when I get to the part where it says "Mouse click at the top of the condition lever slots to move levers," no amount of clicking on the slots actually does anything. I have also noticed some other bugginess. When the brakes are removed, I do get nominal forward motion, but I cannot get the throttle to move. Yes, the engine is definitely started in all cases. ![]() Thanks, and sorry for the new-to-the-sim questions. I can use the control for zooming (X, x) in a certain view (v, V) but I have not figured out how to pan and tilt the view to look at what I want to see. I also cannot figure out how to adjust view of the cockpit so I can see all of the instrumentation and controls. When I click and move my mouse, no matter how slightly, these controls jam all the way to extremes (full-in or full-out), but even then these don't seem to have an effect on RPMs or anything else.īy the way, just for fun I tried to use the F-14 model included in the main download. I have also tried mouse clicking on the GUI throttle and mix controls. I am trying both the 9 and 3 keys on the numpad (with numlock on) and the page up / page down buttons, but nothing works. (almost all other common controls), but I cannot make a change to throttle. I can turn brakes on/off, change views, move the control stick, etc. ![]() ![]() I have tried loading a variety of plane models, but with none of them can I perform the basic task of throttling up. I have downloaded and installed v1.9.1b on Windows XP SP3, on a machine with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, 4GB RAM, a GeForce 6600 video card, and fast disks with plenty of space. I am a new user of FlightGear, but I am familiar with other flight sims. ![]()
